I think he was a better actor than he thought himself. I remember one soiree last november at the premiere in Spain of "Ne touchez pas la hache". He appeared on the screen with "that" leg and a face of had been thinking about his role since days and days like Jimmy Dean. He looked at the sea and almost collapsed. It was quite impressing.
